I'm still unsure as to what I want this blog to be and it still might change. When toying with the idea of a blog, I sat and thought about some of my favourite things and decided to just write about them. It seemed a good place to start.
Reading is important to me, I read for about an hour everyday, usually before bed or when I wake up. I love that it has become part of my routine.
I'm not claiming to be a fountain of knowledge on what books are the best or worst, or what certain things represent in literary terms. I thought it just might be nice to read an honest opinion from an amateur reader.
So... onto 'Wedding Season', this book is not something I usually read, I'm more of a thriller girl really; I love Tess Gerritsen and Harlon Coben in particular. But I am trying to read more light-hearted books inbetween murder and mystery. This was a perfect break.
The story centres around the lives of three ladies all involved in the wedding industry. Sarah is a wedding planner, Elsa a dress designer and Bron a hairdresser/make-up artist/baker. They are each working their way through their careers; finding out what they want from life and love.
The book follows their individual stories as they forge new relationships and friendships, all while planning the biggest wedding of their careers. It is an easy read that left me feeling happy and uplifted.
I was looking for a light-hearted read that wouldn't take too much out of me emotionally. I definitely recommend this for a holiday read or a-cup-of-tea-and-a-book read! I especially recommend this book if you love all things wedding!
