Card Design #1

During the last two years, I have started making my own greetings cards and, trust me, I have made a lot of really bad ones! I spent a long time deciding what I wanted my style to be and what materials suited that style most.

I quickly became a fan of using old book pages and string. Two simple materials that, I believe, work well together and can create something quite beautiful.

This card design is the first time these two materials came together on my craft table and it felt like me, on a card! It was also the fist card I felt happy, even proud, to give to someone.

What's even more fab is this design is simple to make. All you need is an old book, string and my old favourites; double sided sticky tape and a hot glue gun. There are also so many variations you can do at home yourself. You could use different types of string, or even wool. Instead of using book pages, try old maps or music manuscript.

I make a lot of cards now but I am always searching the internet for inspiration so I thought it would be nice to throw my hat in the ring and hopefully inspire someone else.
