I love any excuse to make a card! But I am also quite disorganised and often forget about cards until the last minute. This is a cute little design that is simple to make and, if you have craft supplies at home, could save you money.

When I think about Easter; I think eggs, so it seemed only right to use the 'Easter shape'.

You will need

  • A blank card
  • Scrap piece of card (big enough for your egg shape)
  • Double sided sticky tape
  • Hot glue gun
  • Wool (your chosen colours)
  • Scissors

I made most of this card outside while we were having a picnic lunch.

Now if you can draw an egg shape, you are ok, I traced one off my iPad.

Firstly, take your scrap price of card and and cover with double sided sticky tape, on both sides. But don't peel off the white stuff, just yet.

Trace or draw your egg shape then cut it out. On one side of your egg, peel off the white stuff to reveal the sticky tape.

Now, cut your wool into small strips just long enough to go beyond your egg.

Start laying the strips down and pressing them so they are firmly stuck down.

The design is totally up to you; I went for something really simple.

Also, I only had two colours so I was quite limited; if you have more then you could do a more exciting design.

Once the front of your egg is finished, flip it over and trim off the excess wool.

Now peel off the sticky tape on the other side and stick your egg onto your blank card.

I put a small line of glue, using my hot glue gun, around the outside and attached one line of wool to outline the shape.

The rest is up to you, I'm planning on giving mine just like this and keeping it simple. But you could write 'Happy Easter' above or below the egg. You could hot glue gun buttons for added detail on the egg.

I Hope this gives you some inspiration for a last-minute card. I'll be posting another blog tomorrow about how to make the card below.

Happy crafting

Amy
