So in yesterday's blog I said to not throw away those off cuts. I try not to ever throw anything away; old wrapping paper, tops with pretty patterns; anything and everything. There will always be something you can make.

One of my favourite craft gadgets is my heart stamp cutter. I use it all the time! Any scrap paper or card I have no use for; I sit in front of the tv stamping out tiny hearts.

I know what you are thinking 'Amy, what am I going to do with all those tiny hearts?!' Well the answer is there are so many things you can do! Take it to a wedding as confetti, sprinkle it over your table for a special dinner or use them in your crafting.

Here is one way to use them on a card design. I call this one the 'hot air balloon' design. It is simple to make and you probably have everything you need already.

The things you need are:

  • Your stamped hearts
  • hot glue gun
  • Cotten/embroidery thread
  • Extra card or lace
  • Double sided sticky tape
  • Scissors

Firstly, stick a small piece of double sided sticky tape where the 'basket' of your hot air balloon will go. Peel off the white stuff so it is sticky. Attach one end of your thread to a heart with your glue gun. Start with the hearts that are the furthest away, stick down, pull the thread tightly and secure the other end of the thread to the sticky tape.

Now the rest really is up to you and your creative insight. I've done two variations of this design using different materials and thread.

I gave a card similar to this to my sister for her birthday but it is a good all-round design and can work for lots of occasions.

Hopefully this is helpful,if you have any questions about this card you can message me through the 'Contact Me' page.
