Card Design #13 - Lace and String Tie the Knot

Today I've got a lovely card design using some of my favourite materials to work with; lace and string!

The delicacy of the lace against the raw string works brilliantly and together create something beautiful.

It's so simple to make, just hot glue gun some lace to your card with excess going beyond the card edges. Then hot glue gun a line of string again with some going beyond the edges of the card.

Trim off the excess, it is much easier to create a neat edge this way than trying to measure it out perfectly before gluing it down. Tie a bow for the finishing touch.

I think this would be perfect as a inexpensive and easy DIY wedding invitation. You could add hearts with your initials to make it more personalised to your special day. I have a heart punch, which is probably my most used craft tool! You could put your initials on the hearts and glue them each side if the bow.

Or enlist the help of a friend with amazing handwriting, we all have that one friend!

It is simple and elegant.

Hope you had a lovely weekend.
